tl;dr: samsung confirms the z fold 5, z flip 5, tab 9, & both watch 6 models. with the foldables, they’re adopting a new hinge design that will finally remove the hinge gap from the previous models. they also hint at even more cross-device connectivity in one ui.

As someone who has to deal with small pockets these new flip phones have been interesting to me. I’m just worried about how long that screen will last.

On the other extreme, as someone with ginormous pockets but failing eyesight, I’m beginning more interested in the Fold.

Not at $1,900 price point though. Looking at maybe picking up a Fold 3 on the used market.

It was too expensive for me so I bought an “open box, as new condition” one for $900. It was a risk but it really has been as new condition and I’m super happy with it. It has been a life changer because everything is easier with a larger screen (particularly the keyboard!) and having one device is so much more convenient than syncing and carrying two.

Once the Fold 5 comes out in a few weeks even a new Fold 4 will hopefully be cheaper.
