Any that work for youtube?
For example, if I type out a sentence and decide I want to add asterisks around a word for emphasis, why does Gboard replace the space between the previous word and the emphasized word instead of just adding the new character? Is this added functionality for something I just don’t understand?...
Does anyone know how I can change the power profile on TLP from “balanced” to “low-power” so that it will survive reboot?
We had a thread about OpenAI Staff Threaten to Quit Unless Board Resigns, but I thought I might as well add it again. Especially because of this part:...

I used to be able to download the available pages from books on Google Books with pysheng(3) and/or getxbook, but neither of them seem to work any more. On Firefox I can go into “More Information>Media Info” and download page images one by one, but this is slow and cumbersome. Any recommendations for a replacement?
Pretty much the subject line. uBO has successfully blocked the nag screen enough times that I can’t play anything at this point. No preview loads, and the play button serves no function. I’d really prefer not to have to find content on YT, copy the URL and use Piped/Invidious, but this ongoing escalation is steeling my...
I just received my invite code today and took a quick look around the app. Like Mastodon I do not prefer microblogging platforms. And that’s all I know about Bluesky....
I’m looking for a non-locked/writeable hdmi dummy so I can get 4k hdr streams from sunshine to my TV. As far as I understand, most/all of the dummies sold lacks the edid for hdr…...

I’m looking for a watch that can track my heart rate, stay on my tiny wrist, and that doesn’t cost a lot only to break frequently. Fitbit is….no longer meeting that criteria and was honestly out of my budget to begin with, but i am nervous about spending money again on something random that could also break just as...
So I’ve been using youtube ad blockers since pretty much when ad blocker extensions were first available. Lately though I’ve been getting hit more and more with these messages that YT was sending out every 5 or so videos telling me that adblockers aren’t allowed. No problem, just gotta wait 5 seconds to x it out and then...
I’ve just scanned a section of a book (in French) that unfortunately uses a very fine typeface and a lot of italics that seem to confuse the OCR....

It’s my understanding that Mastodon and Lemmy work together well in the Fediverse. I CAN see my Beehaw account from Mastodon, as well as other user accounts, but have difficulty understanding how I can specially find and follow Beehaw and/or other Lemmy instance content via Mastodon....
I absolutely hate “smart” TVs! You can’t even buy a quality “dumb” panel anymore. I can’t convince the rest of my family and friends that the only things those smarts bring are built-in obsolescence, ads, and privacy issues....
Title says it all, I’m looking for something as user-friendly as a chromecast but not made by a company like google. I’m familiar with linux and if some open source software exists that can do this I would love it....
I always forget the speed differences (and other specs) for ethernet cables. I can find what I need from various sources, but I haven’t been able to find a good chart with the info I want to print out at work. Most likely I’ll create my own, but I’m curious what’s already out there....
Sorry if I’m not the first to bring this up. It seems like a simple enough solution.
I recently had a discussion about ACs and how they heat up cities....
