Small Voyager Easter Egg from Picard Season 2 Episode 2

So I was looking at the skulls from Picard Season 2 Episode 2, and when I came across Commodore Y’Shi’s, I recognized something familiar on the nameplate. Turns out it was the Voth Symbol seen in “Distant Origin” (Season 3 Episode 23). So, I got the design from Star Trek Design Project, and flipped it and there it is. The Saurian Symbol on Commodore Y’Shi’s plate (from the Confederation Timeline) is the Voth Symbol turned 180 degrees. I don’t know if this was intentional (probably is) or not, but fun easter egg.

Also sorry for the horrible picture, threw it together in paint quickly without caring for neat design.

I never would have recognized this even if I was looking directly at it. Good catch!

I think the way I caught the Saurians Symbol being the Voth symbol is from my excessive playing of Star Trek Online… they feature it a lot there…

Damn nu-trek actually cares!

The production and prop designers on all the new shows keep showing us deep dives. Many are fans themselves.

I’ve never understood the “these people hate Star Trek!” take I’ve seen around the new shows. It’s clear that nobody working on these sets out to intentionally make a bad show. Some of the Easter eggs and references are deep cuts, so it seemed obvious to me that the people working on these are big fans.
