Is this the first confirmation that Tilly will play a part in the Academy show?! Because it seemed so obvious that she would, given the 32c setting, but I’m not sure we saw it spelled out officially before. Glad to see Jett Reno back, too.

I’m loving how the Doctor (no, the Voyager one) is having a moment with appearances in both Prodigy and Starfleet Academy. He was an MVP on VOY and given the character is an artificial person it stands to reason he could be active or reactivated several hundred years later.

Notaro and Picardo join as series regulars reprising their roles as Jett Reno and The Doctor, and Fehr and Wiseman join as guest stars reprising their roles as Admiral Vance and Sylvia Tilly.

I’m shocked that Notaro will be a series regular, and even more shocked that Wiseman will not.

I just got way more interested in the show. Notaro and Picardo are fantastic. Whatever they do, it'll be worth it to see those two.

Agreed, they are two of my favorite trek characters.

Contract thing? Is it because Notaro was only a guest star on Discovery do the five year renegotiation rule doesn’t apply?

Notaro likely didn’t have a contract at all for Discovery, but I doubt that would have affected anything. I don’t get the impression that Wiseman would be overly expensive, either - Notaro is still the bigger star.

Maybe Wiseman just didn’t want to commit to a full season or something.
