It’s okay. Lower decks is better imho.

Not everything needs to be ranked.

KillerTofu ,

To be fair, not everything needs to be watched.

What a pointless, useless rebuttal…

It occurs to me that they’re referring to the headline, which…yeah, okay.

It seems our comments have something in common.

I watched it! It’s remarkably Trek for a kids show, with some surprisingly dark moments.

Not legally, of course, because it hasn’t been released here and I can’t even find what party is going to release it in the future. That includes S1.

I can get the Switch game, and the German translation of the comic, but legally watching the show requires importing blu-ray disks from other countries that probably don’t even have the right region for me to play if I did own a blu-ray player.

Assuming you’re in the Netherlands, season 1 is apparently available on SkyShowtime, with season 2 “coming soon.”

Huh, TIL SkyShowtime exists. Yet another streaming service, great! I’ll have to consider it when SNW continues.

According to the internet it won’t work on my computer or laptop, though, because unlike Netflix and Disney Plus it doesn’t support Linux apparently? And it doesn’t seem like it’ll work on my phone, either, because I’ve had to flash a custom ROM onto that after Xiaomi dropped support a few years ago. Guess I’ll have to try a free trial.

Yeah, NBA League Pass doesn't work on Linux either, they partnered with Microsoft to implement their new DRM and made the decision not to support Linux. I assume this is also the case here.

The only way to get around it is to use a virtual machine, which is silly.

I got Amazon Prime to work in HD for a short while by running Chrome in Wine. Didn’t get more than 480p on my phone. At some point it broke and I went back to pirating, because that allowed me to get the episodes earlier, at a higher quality, on all of my devices. Setting up a VM will inevitably kill smooth playback, I’m not even going to bother with that.

If their DRM worked and shows would take weeks to leak, I wouldn’t be too bothered by their restrictions, but with every show releasing on torrent sites before they make it to Europe, I’m kind of pissed off at the whole ordeal.

The SkyShowTime people have a subscription with generic ads and a more expensive subscription with ads for their own shows. I can’t even select an ad-free option. I swear to god, it’s like they want people to pirate their shows.
