I guess it’s the new cycle of evolution. Back when trees first evolved, there were no bacteria that could break down wood, so all of it was just piling up until it turned into coal (do correct me if I’m wrong, my primary source of this is a YouTube video by Steve Mould). If bacteria that can break down plastic can evolve, that would be neat for the environment. Maybe less neat for things that were built from plastic to last a long time
