Leaving Reddit unironically made me touch grass
Exactly what the title says. I used to look at Reddit and spend 2+ hours minimum every single day, more on the weekends. Once the API changes were announced and the protest date hit, I decided I would stop using it regardless of what happened moving forward....

PSA: Reddit is refunding active Premium memberships, despite their official stance
I’ve recently contacted Reddit support in order to prepare my ten year old account for deletion. Although all official sources say, that they don’t offer refunds for Premium, I tried to get at least a part of the 50$ (yearly membership; last renewal in Feb 2023) back. To my surprise, they’ve actually refunded me the full...

Gladly started donating to Lemmy, the .world servers, and the Connect for Lemmy app developer
Just thought it was funny that looking back I’ve used Reddit for over 10 years and I never actually paid them a dime. I feel really good about donating so much money monthly here, though, because I have so much hope for this place and a brighter future for us all in the fediverse. Just screenshotted a comment and saw a weird message
For the first time ever, when i screenshotted it said “Wait! Don’t screenshot! this post looks better when you share it.” I’ve screenshotted plenty before and never seen this. Are they really that desperate for interaction?

If reddit banned you permanently, do you still have the right to be forgotten?
I write this because I have several accounts on Reddit and I really want them deleted but I can’t delete them now that I’m permanently banned. I can still go into Reddit and browse. How does that even make sense?
