This might be the dumbest shit I’ve ever said, but seems like a valid way to solve the bot problem? Definitely no existing coin or anything like that, but I feel like place is one of those things where if you could solve the logistical problems, it could easily become a staple of the internet with a long rich lore.
I’ve been splitting time between Lemmy and Reddit since Apollo shut down. I’ve been using the official Reddit mobile app....
Looks like Apollo is now dead boys and girls. Feels like having a loved one die
Reddit had an outage a few months back and had an awesome write up about their troubleshooting and reengineering of their k8s set up. Does anyone have a link to that? I can’t for the life of me find it.
As per title, I’d like to know if there are any third party apps worth it still?...
So I went to reddit.com desktop site on my android phone and there was a ‘community’ with my r/user name listed?!? I am not logged in nor have I been able to since RIF said goodbye. Anyone see this too?
I am observing a very similar sentiment to Sinophobia, now regarding Russia. Reddit’s audience is primarily 80% USA + West EU, and the rest 20% also includes a lot of East Europe and other countries, leaving for 5-10% anti-hatred people. On the other hand, Western world makes up for a mere 12% of the world’s population....
Left Reddit cause the shadowbanned me for no reason and didnt answer me for month and a half. Was there any chance that i could unban my account?
Ive been waiting for Infinity to die and no longer work… but still works....
Hello guys,...

I don’t know if you’ve noticed this, but threads or comments about Lemmy or the Fediverse get downvoted a lot on Reddit and trolls who claim that it’s “dogshit” and “not going anywhere” get systematically upvoted....
Ya know what? I’m really enjoying Lemmy. The Fediverse is (at present) smaller than Reddit but feels welcoming and at the same time much more “exclusive” (?). It’s just that you have to make the effort to join the Fediverse… …and I’m not going back. I’m getting as much out of Lemmy as I was getting from RIF but...
Apparently Lemmy copied the new reddit layout which shoves everything into the middle of the screen and wastes a massive amount of space. Even on the monitor I oriented vertically this is the case: the post I’m typing right now is using like 30% of the available screen real-estate and wasting the other 2/3rds....

We’re about to enter another Reddit mass migration phase starting tonight. We’ve already attracted the users most actively engaged with the protests and Reddit’s changes—users who are driven enough to put in the effort to grow the Fediverse....
Even in its prime, Tumblr was never profitable. It was sold and resold to several companies who never had a clear vision for what to do with it, other than run ads to generate revenue. Its main draw was its users. For several years it was the social media platform for LGBTQ and fandoms, along with many niche interests....
Reddit had cemented their resolve to pull a Digg. I really hope the migration goes as swiftly as it did all those years ago. Let the platform die and destroy the IPO. Fuck Spez....
I was actually somewhat ok with going back to certain Reddit communities (although NOT just mindless scrolling) after the blackout. There’s a lot of communities where (I thought) there’s literally no alternatives....
Reddit is unlike other platforms: Snoovatars. While old.reddit.com users can easily leave Reddit, people like me who use new.reddit.com enjoy seeing Snoovatars and how adorable they look. Many other sites have ugly profiles and bland formatting, but what makes Reddit great is the playfulness of the avatars because you feel like...
I wasn’t expecting it to work, but I didn’t uninstall the app just in case Reddit backtracks or something. I checked and my front-page loads like normal. Does that mean that Reddit gave up? I didn’t pay infinity at all…
