was trying to install qubes os on another usb drive. failed for the "no multiboot" thing. i am starting to suspect that this is a total waste of time...

I switched to balena etcher and the resulting disk is finally usable. Now it's installing albeit very slowly...

You would think that with the size of 5.6GBytes it would come with everything but apparently no. It's stuck on downloading fucking fontconfig.
