Looking For Crossword Packs In Machine-Readable Format (.puz, .json etc)

Hi all 👋

I’m looking for some help locating large packs/collections of crossword puzzles (in my case for use with the Shortyz/Forkyz Android app) pretty please (sob story below if you’re interested). I promise I’m not trying to be lazy (though it’s possible, as my mum would say, that I’m having a boy’s look), but I’ve looked around on archive.org, all my usual pirate sources (the generals and MAM have a bunch of books in PDF/ePub and the like, but nothing in machine-readable format), Forkyz list of sources, and ofc Google, and come up I feel surprisingly empty.

Anyway, thank you in advance to everyone 💙

NB: This is an edited-for-context cross-post from here. Please remove if not appropriate 👍

<sob-story> Dad’s in palliative care and my step-mum is getting a bit bored with her Sudoku puzzles, which of course I’ve had no trouble providing lol. </sob-story>

MissQ1982 ,

I have a bunch of Kappa Puzzles’ Bent n Wiggly word search PDFs that I can send you, if you want.

Would there be anything in this for crossword puzzle creators?

How do you mean?

It looks like Forkyz (in its current version) reads more than just PUZ files now:

Support new input formats (AM Universal JSON, Exolve, PA Puzzles HTML, Spoonbill, Wall Street Journal JSON, .xd, XWord).

[This page] (github.com/doshea/nyt_crosswords) is linked from the Forkyz list of sources page you linked. It was the first one I clicked on, and it is a huge archive of JSON files.

I’m very sorry to hear about your dad, and I hope this can help in some way.

Yep thanks mate! We’ve seen this, both the nyt repo and the Forkyz list but I removed it from the post as it didn’t seem relevant for this community (I may have been overly liberal with my editing there). It’s just that the NYT crosswords are a bit too americentric (and honestly probably a bit too advanced) for her.
