My wife is a huge Slowdive fan. I went thru a mission where I got her all of their music. But some tracks were really hard to find because they were only released on Flexi disc in magazines.
Take Me Down was by far the hardest to track down and I was so enthralled with it with how fast the tempo is for Slowdive. I just wish they had made a higher quality release than the old Flexi discs…
For anyone unfamiliar, Flexi discs were closer to CD sized thin vinyl sheets with a molded in spiral. They put a track on one as sort of a sample and include them in magazines. The audio quality was poor tho. This was all before my time and I discovered it tracking down those rare Slowdive tracks. Just find it pretty interesting.
