Jentu , in Excuse you, YouTube šŸ˜”

Iā€™m also a premium YT subscriber and if I see this or they kick me off for using PiHole, Iā€™ll cancel my account and just set up some automation with YT-DLP to Plex or Infuse for channels I like watching. If youtube decided that itā€™s their turn to get shitty like the rest of the popular internet, Iā€™ll be beyond upset.

Cybermass ,

You can actually set up firewall settings to block any traffic coming from the ads, the only way they can stop that form of ad block is to block the personā€™s IP address.

Jentu ,

Iā€™m mainly worried that some of the people I like watching on youtube will decide that youtube isnā€™t worth it anymore and theyā€™ll stop making content entirely. Or even switch over to twitch, which Iā€™ve never been able to get into.

Thatā€™s wild. I would never sit through that. Iā€™ve been a YouTube premium sub for years because itā€™s bundled with music. Never knew it was this bad

serklarvel ,

When I canceled my Spotify subscription, I did the same. I get music and video w/o ads

Careful, lots of people take issue with paying for a service these days. /s but only kinda

YT premium has been by far the most worth it subscription for me. I spend a frankly unhealthy amount of YT, even have it running in the background while not watching actively, and I listen to YT music for hours every day. Really easy value sell for me.

But somehow people expect YT to host and deliver literal exabytes of data for free.

These kind of unsolicited reports from users prove a really important point, and one that Spez and company would prefer to ignore. If you have good enough content people will pay for an ad-free experience.

reddit and youtube really shouting out how much companies donā€™t give two farts about its users. thereā€™s so much wholesome and educational content on youtube but, dogs forbid, youtube make $5 fewer in revenue than yesterday šŸ™„ i canā€™t wait for grassroots decentralization of the internet, including video

Thatā€™s when you familiarize yourself with the locations of the teachersā€™ lounges / bathrooms. When the need strikes you march in like you own the place and declare that they can either let you piss in the toilet or youā€™re going on their crappy industrial couch with its 1970s cigarette burns.

k32481 , in I had a migraine. Mom insisted we go here to eat. Yes, a bowling alley. In a casino.

I have chronic migraine. It can be very difficult for people to understand that not all of my migraines are severe because they have a family member/friend that has them and every time they have to be in a dark room, no noise, etc. A lot of my migraines are moderate and I can mostly function but it is miserable. I have gotten pretty good at saying not today.

At least you'll be able to empathise with the bowling balls.

NotYourSocialWorker , in Buying scissors from IKEA because you don't have scissors to open things with

This is due to a murder that happened at an IKEA a couple of years ago. The murderer used knives from the department store.

Saigonauticon , in The Airbnb I'm at has the toilet so close to the sink I can wash my hands and poop at the same time.

Reminds me of Japan where the sink is often the tank of the toilet. When you flush, water comes out the faucet to refill the tank, and so you save water by using that to wash your hands.

Except, wellā€¦ the Japanese idea makes much more sense I guess.
