I actually had this conversation with my partner the other day.
Me: “Are you still afraid of flying?”
Them: “Yeah, why do you ask?”
Me: “Oh, just to let you know that at this point it’s a completely justified position.”
Honestly, a national conversation about how environmentally damaging planes are in general should have already happened. I can only hope this kills the aviation industry and relegates it to international travel. The fact that we’re not headlong into bullet trains criss-crossing the country is a fucking travesty.
