I think it's that trans folk are overrepresented online due to increased participation in internet communities from often facing hostility from their face-to-face communities (I've been in communities that aren't LGBT-relevant but have like 30%+ trans folk), online communities have a larger proportion of younger people (who are more likely to be LGBTQ), and tankies are terminally online*. Combine those three factors and trans folk can end up appearing more prominent amongst tankies, when it's probably more just a case of overlapping social circles rather than any exceptional appeal of tankie-ism to trans folk.
