PinkyCoyote OP ,
@PinkyCoyote@sopuli.xyz avatar

Haha no I intend to make a post about that too but essentially we live near a damn and he went fishing there and got in a fight. Went to shoot somebody and succeeded but got shot back. Never told anyone he was going so didn’t have any backup either

Lemmy.world might have implemented smth to hide the game bots from fanaticus.social since its a sports centric instance. That’s just a guess tho.

Before you wonder, theres a lot of afghani refugees here and if you think this story is violent this is nothing. They are TTA members and build temporary houses here which get washed away in the rain every year and they fight over everything and unlike everyone else they fight like they don’t care if they live as long as they can fuck you up. Everyone wants them as far away as possible hence they werent allowed here.

Was the man high by any chance, all odd homeless encountered i’ve had involve someone drunk who’s taken some form of substance.

GrassrootBoundaries OP ,

Possibly, I can’t be certain.

This post was written by me (the asshole boyfriend) but dictated by my girlfriend. But that account is now hers and she’ll be using it henceforth (hopefully).

And in my defense. A month before that she had pranked me by telling me she was pregnant, in a country where not only is abortion illegal, it’s illegal to get pregnant outside of wedlock (unless it’s rape). So either we had to get a shotgun marriage or she had to report a rape. And thats ignoring our families who woulda killed us anyways!

No offense to the writer, but this feels realistic precisely because nothing actually happened in it. This feels like the dreams I have where it’s mostly just a scene, an image, an emotion, not a plotline.

PinkyCoyote ,
@PinkyCoyote@sopuli.xyz avatar

Yeah very likely. But belief and perception shape our reality. If OP immersed themselves in the experience, the intensity of their belief made it undeniably real within their own perspective. In OPs mind, the emotions, thoughts, and sensations were genuine. Creating a reality that is authentic and meaningful to them, regardless of external perceptions/ “objective reality”.

radix ,
@radix@lemm.ee avatar

Yeah, I’m sure it was real to them. It just sounded so relatively mundane.

This puts me contrary to a lot of people online who make it their responsibility to point out “And everyone clapped” or “This totally happened”. I actually like reading entertaining stories, whether real or not.

Rereading the purpose of this community, I’m reminded that this is for real-life encounters. So this story fits perfectly here. I was just amused by how real it actually sounded, because most scary stories online are so carefully crafted and curated.

Yeah I’m with you on that.

This would be around $35000 (USD). But that’s insane amounts of money for my country.

The kid was perfectly fine and said all the dude did was put him in a room and gave him his phone with a game on.
