Did they give up?
So, I’m new to the fediverse and Lemmy, and I’m still trying to wrap my brain around it all. I’m sure people have talked about this, but by far my biggest issue so far has been finding communities. I specifically didn’t want t to join a large instance, but that has led to issues of finding communities. I often need to go...
I have a meme account on Instagram, which I’d like to also have on the Fediverse. Can anyone recommend me a Pixelfed instance for this? Or maybe another type of server?

Pretty straight question....
If they’re trying to attack all of Lemmy, or the whole Fediverse, they’re doing it wrong. lol...
Hello everyone,...
As I understand it, the main fediverse softwares all implement ActivityPub in a little bit different way, and so don’t fully overlap with one another in terms of how well you can see content from one on another and in what ways you can interact with it. Is there a summary anywhere that just has a quick breakdown of what...
By fediverse first, I mean that the app/site/platform was built from the start to be federated instead of being like corporate site but FOSS & federated....
I joined a couple of other instances and it doesn’t show one of them.
A while back I signed up to rammy.site a small lemmy instance run by a single person. It was a very nice instance, very stable and had pretty good access to other instances, or at least it used to. Recently though all of that has changed when the instance was taken over by far right-wing users from the right-wing instance known...
I think I originally asked in the wrong place....
Did I get punished for saying something wrong? Did it get an update?
I cant find much information about it. Is it possible to create an instance which will be part of a server, like lemmy.ml. Or do I have to run a server to be able to create a sub inside lemmy.ml(or any other). Thanks

Ugh.
With the mass migrations of Reddit users to Lemmy/Kbin, and Twitter now speedrunning its own mass extinction, it seems me that the eventual future of social media is de-centralized. I like how Lemmy is slowing turning out, even if it still has some work to do and growing pains to fix up. It’s still able to inform me of all of...
Things have been incredibly unstable there. Until things stabilise, they should force the traffic elsewhere.
Why do the instances keep going down? It makes me think that this is not a reliable social network, but the alternatives are not as good.
Preferably on fdroid
On September 22nd the Free Software Foundation Europe, the Landeszentrale für politische Bildung Nordrhein-Westfalen (Centre for Civic Education of North Rhine-Westphalia) and the VHS Köln (Adult Education Centre Cologne) organized a symposium about “The world after Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. A new generation of the...

Why is the hot sort for lemmy so… bad? The top of my feed when I sort by hot is all completely new posts. If I wanted new, I would sort by new.
