I’m not sure who the roster is, but i get the house blend from a shop called ROHRS in New Jersey.

Highly recommend ‘Untitled 4th Blend’ from M&H Beans in North Canton, O. They have a website and ship ( www.mhbeans.com). It’s a dreamy sweet smell/aroma with a deeper dark chocolate finish. I try something else every once in a while but always come back to this one for my home espresso/milk drinks.

The wife loves milk drinks so I’ll have to check this out!

I just discovered a roaster in Portland called Push X Pull. They specialize in natural process light roasts. This roast was particularly interesting pushxpullcoffee.com/…/colombia-finca-villa-betuli…But everything I’ve tried there has been really good!

Local roaster in Champaign Illinois called Columbia street roastery. I don’t live in the area anymore but I order online and they ship wherever. My personal favorite is their black velvet; it’s dark but incredibly smooth.

here’s their website

Thank you! Would love to check them, I’m also in the US so I’ll check them out.

It would be helpful if you were comfortable sharing where in the world you are.

Yea, these threads mean nothing without that; unless the OP is willing to potentially self-import from a seller that could be on the other side of the planet.

I live in China and buy local beans exclusively, China isn’t particularly well known for being a bean producer - and most people here don’t drink coffee, though it’s growing - but down in Yunnan, in the border region to Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar are a bunch of farmers and roasters, and they make excellent stuff.

Unfortunately none of them have any websites and are only available via Chinese social media or messaging apps, but if you come across any Yunnan roasts by chance, give it a try!

Sounds awesome! I’m sure there’s a lot of cross-pollination with Vietnamese coffee but I’d love to try some Yunnan roast. My wife just brought back a bundle of beans from Vietnam and it was a real treat.

Chinese and Vietnamese coffees aren’t worlds apart, but I’d say there still is some difference at least. Love Vietnamese in general though, friend of mine is a farmer there with his own roastery, always a highlight to visit when I’m around.

Very cool to see coffee around the world!

I’m in Hanoi. The change in the coffee culture over the last decade or so has been great. Some really nice fair trade farm to shop arabica is now available plus local roasters using Kenyan and Ethiopian beans. Things are even more advanced in Saigon.

Yep, my friend is down in Saigon, though is farm is in the border area with Laos and Cambodia. Had some excellent roasts there.

As a “coffee fan”, I’d be siked to try some. Just gotta figure out what can make it to the US eventually.

I wouldn’t mind shipping any, but since the covid lockdowns, shipping has become prohibitively expensive. I’ve got some friends from the US here, so if you’re not in a particular hurry I can always wait until someone’s traveling home and give them some packages to ship domestically with USPS or whatever it convenient?

Was also planning to go to the US to audit one of our key suppliers, but that won’t be before June '24 unfortunately.

I appreciate the kindness but no sweat. Not in a hurry but I know it’s a pain to move stuff around the world for a random person on Lemmy. Maybe I’ll get some of those beans when I’m feeling a bit more fancy :)
