I think you are picturing it correct, the cup is metal but it does have what seems like a very high quality plastic sheath in the elevator. As you raise the elevator less and less plastic is in contact with your water and there is only a 30s or so steeping period so it’s pretty minimal. You just push the elevator back in and when there is no gasket resistance on the orange ring it’s super easy to just fling that back up to the top of the elevator. So technically it’s two sets of twists but the reset is super quick and easy even for me.
I timed myself once at about 2.5min. I gave up timing hough and just got a nice slow steady turn rhythm. Not watching the clock like I do with pour over was a bit liberating.
