There’s a weird “bug” (or feature, I don’t know, since it’s been months that people complain about it) that makes Lemmy convert gifs to mp4 videos when you upload them. Workaround for now is to host the gif somewhere else, like a Pixelfed instance, and then insert it here using an image tag.
