Why do phones made in Asia seem to have the same UI design?

I was looking at some new phones recently and phones made in Asia (Xiaomi, Huawei, Samsung) seem to have the same design to me. They all seem to have lots of padding on UI elements, seem to use the same fonts, and seem to resemble a shared design language. They seem to look different from something like stock Android or a Pixel. Is there a reason for this, or am I just crazy?

Edit: The settings app seems almost the same in those phones (I think), for example.

Reddy ,

Which phone is not made in Asia?

The Liberty Phone by Puism!

It’s just the Librem 5, but built in their own shop in the USA, so it costs $1000.00 USD more.

…but that’s the only one I can think of, even for the Linux phones.

Since we’re talking about the Software-Aspect here: Every Single Phone Google has ever made.

As far as I can tell Xiaomi Huawei and Samsung aren’t names of software.

As far as i can tell modern smartphones don’t have hardware-UIs anymore

oops… fixed now

What?! Pixels have dummy thick padding everywhere. Look at the Quicksettings or the Settings menu. The only thing is that asian Android skins actually uses your phones color screen properly instead of the drab washed out colors you get in the Pixel UI.

I know, but I think a Pixel looks visually different from Samsung and Xiaomi phones (I think). Look at something like the settings app in those phones, for example.

Samsung wants to make its Android devices look different from stock Android to help get user lock in.

Chinese manufacturers follow Samsung’s UI since it has become the premium Android product in a lot of markets.
