Just a pointless comparison really, based on very particular use cases and tastes, taking all the objectivity out of “objectively better”.

I would never use an iPhone for a daily device. But for some people it clearly makes the most sense.

Me, I have to block ads at the system level (so I root), I like custom ROMs, sideloading, pirating, tweaking, changing how my phone works and how I work with my phone. On any of those grounds, an iPhone makes zero sense. But most people don’t care about any of that, and nor should they really.

As an Indian I can confirm there are lot of missing digital essentials

What convinced me to switch to Android was a growing frustration with Background App Refresh on iOS

Khrux ,

Although I could probably fix it, this also plagues me on android, just not quite enough to do anything about it.

Objectively better

based on my personal opinion

I know.

Put it this way: I try to be objective, but at the end of the day I am some what subjective.

Sorry, should’ve read them.

For future reference, can I copy paste all content and reference link to my site at the bottom of post, or just the content itself?

The rule is pretty clear. This is not a community for self-promotion. If you want to do that, find a community that allows it.

EDIT: Twitter-like social networks seem like a more appropriate place for this sort of self-promotion. Like Mastodon or Bluesky.

I don’t think anyone actually disagrees tbh

Well sure but it’s like choosing what hardness of shit I want my porridge made out of.

I disagree. It’s not objectively better. I don’t hate android or anything, but their version of an ecosystem just isn’t as good. And as someone who didn’t like gestures at first, you learn them. Say what you will, but time and again apple polishes certain features that other people then copy. I have a $2,000 windows laptop, a linux desktop, and I have an android tv box. Some things really are just better on iOS

sbv ,

I disagree too. I’m on Android out of habit. When I tried iOS a couple of years back it seemed pretty good. I happened to like the Pixel camera more, so I came back. I’m feeling pretty grumpy about my Pixel’s battery, so I may try switching again.

It isn’t that Android is better, it just works for some people better than others.
