Pixel 6a or pixel 7 if you are willing to spend more. Pixel 7a needs to drop its price to make any sense

cdegallo , (edited )

Compared to the 6a the 7a has: Wireless charging (but only 5w), up to 90hz screen refresh rate, and an updated SOC that is slightly more efficient, updated cellular modem that is less prone to cellular issues. A different main rear camera sensor (but practically speaking I haven’t seen much difference in photos in comparisons).

My wife has the 7a, coming from a 5, and the battery life is awful. She has issues with the fingerprint sensor (I have a7 pro and don’t have issues with the fingerprint sensor). But the 6a would have these same challenges.

I’m on a pixel 6 and still have the shitty fingerprint sensor. Trying to Sus out now if I should hold out of a pixel 8, or just get a 7

I would say wait for the 8 since you can probably get good deals on it like with the 7 (like getting it for 200 on mint mobile)

My wife rocks a 6a, I’m on the 7. Both are fantastic phones. MKBHD did a big blind test of phone photography at the end of 2022, and the Pixel 6a won the best camera phone for the year.

I don’t know much about the 7a, but there isn’t anything specific about the 6a that I’d want to fix.

I just bought the 6a in a sale at a local shop. Would have had to spend almost 200€ more for the 7a, which made the 6a just the way better value for it’s money

ManuelC ,

Imo the differences don’t worth the money. I suggest you buy the cheapest you can find between those 2.

Wireless charging and 90hz

I’m so glad wireless charging has made a comeback outside of the galaxy S. I had it like 6 years ago, and have missed it since.

Thrazuil ,

Important to note that Pixel phones regularly go on sale so you should hold off until you see one of those if you can. May be able to nab a 7a for the price of a 6a. 7a is also a year newer and will receive software updates longer.

I think price wise the 6a is better.
