Gotta get them while they’re young

Every Republican.

Right! The only people willing to work for these low wages are children who do not know any better nor the value of their time and the impact that stress early on will have on them later in life.

If you have to be emancipated or something, it’s different and should be handled case wise really. But just having them openly able to work with no distinction really sounds dangerous AF.

That and they can molest the kids easier when they’re at a factory. Kinda hard to pluck them out of their homes. Poor kids are easier/cheaper to silence, too. And if they open their mouths, whoops, they fell into a meat grinder.

Some people want a return to a feudal state of uneducated peasants laboring for pennies from puberty to death. The US already has forced prison labor (aka slave labor) earning 450 million/year in Alabama that mirrors indentured servitude from the Middle Ages. It’s good this got vetoed, but the folks who are trying to eliminate protections for young workers should have to answer some hard questions. Society is supposed to move forward to happier, healthier people.

They’re happy to compromise on starting at puberty….

But, they really want ‘em younger.
