I’ll bet there’s not going to be any lines this fall when I go to get this shot. Even by the 4th round during the pandemic I had no trouble making an appointment. Lots of people just decided COVID’s over once they got any number of shots (1 in some cases).
You must live in a low science believer area. When I was near Seattle they were always running out or you have to book a couple weeks in advance. Sometimes walkins are lucky.
Or maybe they live in an area that uses technology for better appointment systems and stock management. Let’s not try and assign beliefs to comments that aren’t about it.
I live in a city with LOTS of liberal voters. Even a lot of them just aren’t as concerned about COVID anymore. Folks will get the shot, but a lot will wait until closer to the holidays.
The only thing eyebrow raising about this is that they were bombers (assuming they actually were). Normally this sort of thing is done with recon aircraft.
Keep in mind these were aircraft that had been pulled out of retirement when Putin figured out their missiles are terrible and they don’t have as many as claimed, they do probably still have billions of lbs of conventional bombs.
BEIJING, Aug 15 (Reuters) - China’s statistics bureau said on Tuesday it had suspended publication of youth jobless data, citing the need to improve methodology in the way it measured unemployment among young people, which has hit record highs in recent months.
The decision announced shortly after the release of weaker-than-expected factory and retail sales data sparked a rare backlash on social media amid growing frustration about employment prospects in the country.
Young Chinese are facing their toughest summer job-hunting season after regulatory clamp-downs in recent years left traditional sources of graduate employment – including the property, tech and education sectors – bruised.
The most recent NBS data on youth unemployment, published last month, showed the jobless rate jumping to a record high of 21.3% in June.
The NBS’s decision was immediately mocked on Chinese social media, with a related hashtag receiving over 10 million views on microblogging site Weibo.
A Chinese professor last month said the country’s true youth jobless rate may have been closer to 50% in March, in rare public comments about the matter published in an article for financial magazine Caixin.
WARSAW, Aug 15 (Reuters) - Poland’s biggest military parade since the Cold War takes place in Warsaw on Tuesday as the NATO-member country flexes its military muscle in what the government hopes will be both a message to Moscow and to voters ahead of elections in October.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has made boosting the armed forces a priority for Poland’s ruling nationalists Law and Justice (PiS), and with the election campaign in full swing the immense display of military hardware provides a chance to burnish their security credentials.
“This parade will be different from the previous ones; we will be able to see how the process of modernising the equipment of the Polish Army is progressing,” Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said on Sunday.
Polish-made Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles and Rosomak armoured personnel carriers will also take part.
The party has vowed to double the size of the army and spend around 4% of gross domestic product (GDP) on defence this year.
PiS remains the largest party in most opinion polls, but its lead is narrow and it looks unlikely to win a majority.
The most deliscious thing (and worrying if I’m being honest) about all of this is that his biggest cheerleader, Magic The Gathering Majorie, is a representative of Georgia. Either this all happens under her watch and she’s powerless to “take the heat off a guy” or she will pull every favor she can in her own state to reduce anything she can for him.
I forsee not only there to be many hiccups, but maybe even Watergate type charges for her office for meddling with the courthouse itself to try and fuck with the system. I would like to be wrong but this is a case that brings, perhaps not the actual charge but the spirit of, treasonous behavior. Anyone willing to end the democratic way of doing things for a dictator, will absolutely come to bat if it fails to try again.
Homie was charged under the Espionage Act. Not in GA, that’s Jack Smith’s case. You think they’ll let him just chill out at mar-a-fucko for the rest of his days? Where any foreign operative has access?
I’ll believe that “justice comes calling” when he’s wearing clothes that match his skin color (not his natural gray “corpse twice warmed over” pallor, the John Boehner tribute one).
Not saying that it’s not good that they’re trying, but since he’s rich and powerful in an extremely corrupt system, actual justice for his many crimes will probably come in several years, if ever…
I understand your cynicism, but if there's a silver lining it's that this is a state level charge so he couldn't pardon himself or get it dismissed if he were to somehow win the election. So this trial gonna happen no matter what.
I mostly agree, but then again, the risk of a Georgia judge being another Aileen Cannon is not insignificant, which could not just delay the trial but also unduly influence the outcome…
