If you are tech savvy and the stuff you want to torrent is somewhat mainstream, I would recommend torrenting over i2p. You should be able to find all the info you need to get started on their website: geti2p.net

i2p is an anonymity network similar to tor, but the implementation allows for torrenting much better than tor. It is worth noting that i2p is not a drop-in replacement for a vpn and you will only be able to access content on the i2p network, however you can easily request that things be added and there will usually be a seeder in a day or two.

  1. Removing spam
  2. Reviewing flagged posts and actioning them as needed
  3. Ensuring that posts follow the community rules
  4. Organizing events and contests for your userbase, if applicable

It can definitely be a thankless job at times, but also very rewarding to see the community flourish.

I like Mastodon a lot. i feel like people talk more about themselves and express their opinions freely, even me.

It’s like a cozy (?) place. I feel comfortable and I surrounded by different opinions, but in a relaxing way, actually communicating and talking.

This is going way back, but the 7th Guest soundtrack had lived in my head since the first time I saw the game. Really great atmosphere, equal parts creepy and playful, perfect mood for a haunted mansion filled with puzzles.

I distro hop a lot. After using Majaro (gnome) for a long time I switched to Pop_OS for a long time. I switched back to Manjaro (Gnome) again, but after a week of use I’ve just downloaded Ubuntu.

I’m getting basic display issues that I’ve never got in another distro (including tails!) and it’s generally annoying me. I’d rather use a distro that doesn’t require troubleshooting on Day 1

I’ll probably get roasted for this but… Pokemon. It just seems like endless copy/paste and might be one of the laziest game franchises I’ve ever seen. I’ve really tried to get into them. I was there when the Pokemon cartoon started, I saw it rise to the phenomenon it is today, but damn if it isn’t the most boring grindfest ever.

Lemmy, mostly :D. I also recently started up my own Matrix home server. I took a stab at email, but it was more trouble than it’s worth considering my relatively newly acquired cloud hosting IP is on several blacklists. Now that I actually have a server running again Gitea might be next on the list of services that gets added.

Linux Mint for desktops/laptops (Cinnamon if the hardware can handle it, MATE if it’s a bit long in the tooth), and Debian for servers.

I’ve used several distros (yes, even Arch btw) through the years but I just keep finding myself coming back to the Debian-based ones. I guess I just feel most at-home with the way it has things set up, or something.
