Rapist* Brock Allen Turner anyone?

Edited to add important details

kofe ,

Done, thank you

That’s really not good for cats iirc; I think they’re super sensitive to salt

When I think too much about it, eating any meat really does gross me out. I still do but occasionally get tempted to try going vegetarian or something. I’m just too damn lazy

kofe ,

I just watched the other night and was unreasonably angry at the end crying uncontrollably. Idk how to mark spoilers on here but the end just pissed me off. Phenomenal otherwise

kofe ,

No, I can’t explain without spoiling.

I’d encourage you to follow up on her story, actually. She’s spoken out against Dr. Phil along with other minors sent to “the ranch” for some pretty horrific abuse. Idk anything else about her, never listened to her music, but I think victims deserve to at least be heard. She probably has a better platform than others

The “cash me ousside, how bow dah” meme started with her saying it on Dr. Phil’s show in 2016. She was like 13 at the time. His audience loooves seeing him treat his guests, often children, like shit. That meme popped off with a wider audience, though, catapulting her career rapping as Bhad Bhabie. That would all be well and good if she hadn’t suffered trauma due to the former psychologist. He’s denied any accountability for his involvement in sending children to “the ranch;” part of a larger problematic industry of children being literally kidnapped in the middle of the night from their homes and forced into conditions including sleep deprivation, hard physical labor, verbal abuse, and in some cases death. I can’t remember if Bhabie was exposed to someone dying or if it was someone else from the show.

That’s what elected officials are meant to be doing already, anyway. They’re only there through our votes. Elections need to be modernized, imo, to at least guarantee every qualified citizen a mail-in ballot.

I’d be down to occupy some local, state or national land for that message, but organizing also takes a fuckton of resources. Women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, men’s rights, whatever - everyone should feel unified by the right to vote. Who gives a damn what anyone votes for; it’s none of my business. But when local elections get less than 15% turnout, states <50, and presidential maybe 65, I’m just enraged that the people left out are the most needing to be heard.

Collecting personal phones and such makes sense if they have devices strictly for school. They could even benefit from having time set aside as they grow to learn how to program the tech themselves. Structure out time for group activities for younger ages, sharing one tablet between like 4 kids. Monitor how they’re using the devices between the school days and make sure they aren’t adding shit that’s distracting from the lessons.

Ignoring the capabilities kids have by denying them lessons on technology could be a bit detrimental to their potential imo. There’s a middle ground that I offered in a response below
