I don’t get what you’re saying here tbh.

Yup. Support for the Iraqi war was at like 80% in the US when it started.

I don’t that’s what he meant. He meant that many Russian soldiers are brainwashed by propaganda as well.

I know a guy who knows Michael Scott and he said Michael Scott said this as well.

They don’t want people knowing where their money goes.

And nobody actually cares. You’d expect protests whenever something like this comes out? You’d expect people to at least kick up a stink. But, no move on to the next thing. Kinda sad how little outrage there actually is to this shit. Heck, even the general attitude towards this facf from the comments here is “shrugs Well what did you expect”.

New laws allowing the Department for Work and Pensions to monitor the bank accounts of benefit claimants are predicted to lead to 7,400 extra prosecutions for fraud each year – resulting in 250 custodial sentences. (www.publictechnology.net)

Impact assessment forecasts that prosecutions will rocket, but claims staff will take ‘account of circumstances and vulnerabilities’ of benefit recipients and ‘no automatic decisions will be made on data alone’...

Incredibly draconian law. Say what you want about labour but I could never imagine them passing a bill that dictates how much money people are allowed to have and basically what they spend it on. And the average British person thinks those on welfare have it easy lol.

This guy was 17! Imagine being so young and convincing yourself that it’ll never happen for you. Crazy.

Yes. And those journalists were probably out to make Israel look bad by using facts.

STRIKINGdebate2 OP ,
@STRIKINGdebate2@lemmy.world avatar

The sources for Vietnam and WW2 are in the second link. It should be noted that nowadays there’s much more journalists than ever before. Unlike WW2 and Vietnam journalists were able to avoid areas of potential conflict more easily rather than in Gaza where Israels approach of bombing the shit out of the small strip of land has meant there virtually no place where a journalist reporting on their actions can safely do so.

Also I added a third source to the post which corroborates the Vietnam estimate.

Not really because it shows just how reckless towards human life the IDF have been

I literally googled that and this was the top result.

“Hebron is home to approximately 200,000 Palestinians, as well as 700 or so Jewish settlers. However, 20 percent of the city is under direct Israeli control, and Palestinians living in it, or passing through it, are subjected to checkpoints and a ban from travelling on several main streets, unlike the Jewish settlers.”

Intergenerational poverty can be extremely hard to break out from. It isn’t helped by the fact that wealth in this planet is finite with most of it trickling upwards.

And why do you associate the car with freedom? Because marketing has made you associate cars with freedom. Its terrifying the amount of thoughts that are put in people’s head by advertising. Lots of those in marketing have psychology degrees.

FBI Labels Anti-Fascists and Anti-Racists as Violent Extremists (unicornriot.ninja)

A recently released Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) document titled “Domestic Terrorism Symbols Guide”* links common protest symbols to “terrorism” — another marker in a common theme of conflating militant protest for social justice with deadly terrorist violence within the United States. Groups like the American...

Labelling Antifa as a terrorist group is basically admitting you are a fascist.

Yup. Or when anyone tries to do anything they will just come up with reasons why it’s wrong.

No, you clearly don’t know who you’re talking to, so let me clue you in. I am not in danger, Sandy. I am the danger. A guy opens his door and gets a bubble blown in his face, and you think that of me? No. I am the one who knocks!

How Myanmars resistance could topple its military dictatorship for good. (www.vox.com)

machine gun fire, customary during funerals, illuminated the night sky as dozens of men converged in a dimly lit, unpaved alley on the edges of the sprawling slums of Sadr city to pay their respects. Yeah. Keep in mind there is a cold war of sorts in the middle east with Iran and Saudi Arabia and because of that Palestinians have become a Iran coded issue meaning countries allied with Saudi Arabia aren’t taking on the cause anymore.

The funny thing is Varadkar is trying desperately to be a neutral as possible but the Israeli government is literally making it impossible. They are trying to get him to take a more hardline pro zionist stance but there’s very little zionist political power in Ireland. He knows he’ll lose lots of voters if he takes a zionist stance. Israel can’t do shit.

@SpaceNoodle I see a lot of toxic behaviour from you here and I will be keeping a closer eye on you in the future.

As you @schmidtster try not to bring disputes started in other comment chains into this one.
