Or maybe Americans want to see things that aren’t America.

Because I’ve traveled quite a bit in both the U.S. and other countries and there is a huge difference between pretty much anywhere in Europe and pretty much anywhere in the U.S.

There’s not really much in the U.S. even all that similar to Mexico, although there are certainly places which present an idealized version of Mexico (I’m looking at you, downtown L.A. Pueblo). I’ve never been to China, but I am guessing it’s very different from any U.S. city’s Chinatown. I know that actual Italy is absolutely nothing like New York’s Little Italy or even Clinton, Indiana’s Little Italy, which was much more recently settled by Italians. There’s a bunch of old Italian guys at their Little Italy festival.

The argument there was that they were POWs captured on the battlefield, and thus under the purview of the CinC.

There is no way to make that argument regarding Zuckerberg.

I think it’s Trump trying to find a way. In specific, find a way to do something outside of his presidential powers.

He wanted to “lock her up” with Hillary too. Were you one of the people chanting that? Have you noticed she hasn’t been locked up yet even though he had four years to do it?

I was going to say I got it from somewhere, but apparently the term is usually “charity porn.” I think “philanthropy porn” works better though because it’s just as much about the philanthropist themselves as it is about what they’re offering.

Would you say no to a free house? People do things against their interest all the time.

You also don’t know that they weren’t required to hold on to the house for a certain amount of time in order to accept the house. I would be surprised if there weren’t such conditions. Maybe you are financially literate enough to turn down a deal like that, they aren’t necessarily.

They’re also only one job loss away from a tax lien against the house they thought they could afford to live in because they got it for free.
