I’m rereading The Telling by after many years. In the background of my mind I keep thinking:
She knew. She knew and she told us again and again. She knew and was not afraid to tell us.
I want to weep.

This week, I'm reading Four Ways to Forgiveness.

Four sci-fi short stories linked in a longer one. Beautifully written & delightfully subversive.

“Ignorance defends itself savagely, and illiteracy, as I well knew, can be shrewd.”
―Ursula K. Le Guin, Four Ways to Forgiveness

From the book that made me the rabid sci-fi fan I am.

“To learn which questions are unanswerable, and not to answer them: this skill is most needful in times of stress and darkness.”
―Ursula K. Le Guin, The Left Hand of Darkness

Thrilled to see the news that Rebecca Campbell's 'Arboreality' has won the 2023 Ursula K Le Guin Prize for Fiction. I wrote about this wonderful book of linked short stories back in July and I think it beautifully carries on the ideas Le Guin explored in her own work.
