Hello internet! Majority of the comments I get about my videos reading P+P is that you like my blending of the 2005 movie with the book. I thought it would be a great idea to compare the book, chapter by chapter, with the movie. First episode drops on Monday covering chapters one and two!
What I've been working on these past two weeks: putting together 50+ pages of bonus content to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of The Gladiator's Passion this upcoming week. ☺️
Will go out to people on my mailing list on Thursday, so if you've enjoyed Maius and Caomh's story and you haven't signed up yet, make sure to do so here: https://news.sandraschwab.com/gladiator

I'm excited to announce that Troth, book 3 in the Wisconsin Gothic series, is available for preorder now! You can find it on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D69R1X8F (will be up at B&N later today).
If you missed the first two books, go read them! They're really good! They've been nominated for prizes for both fantasy books and gay romance!
Just finished Iron Flame, part 1, and the Graphic Audio version had me hooked! I like it better than the one made by Recorded Books, but so can't wait for part 2 to come out! Although, a few romance writing quibbles with this one, like the chase, and the payoff, I still think Violet didn't get what she needed from Xaden Riorson confession at the end, but still, highly recommend! There are some ways the eBook is written though, with the italics, that I feel weren't captured via audio but I didn't stop reading! https://www.graphicaudio.net/the-empyrean-2-iron-flame-1-of-2.html#Romance#RomanceLandia@romancelandia@romancebooks
Happy bookiversary to my debut! One year later and it's sold reasonably well, picked up some award noms, and garnered love from a lot of people. And I've learned a lot about writing, publishing, marketing...myself, maybe.
If you want a copy, find it here: https://books2read.com/u/49dN1p Or I have a few copies--$17 each, send me a msg or an email (ehlupton at gmail).

Dionysus in Wisconsin has also been shortlisted for the New England Romance Writers Readers' Choice Award in the paranormal/fantasy/scifi/time travel category! I didn't get a chance to make a graphic specifically for this one, but I'm excited--being shortlisted means it went up against more traditional M/F romances and won!
One of my offline friends was telling me, as I was stuffing watermelon into my mouth, that the reason most people detest #Romance books is, yes, because of the smut, but it leads people to confront some human desires they really don't want to think about. She then continued, when reading a romance book, you have to engage in human connections and relationships instead of a fantasy world or a possible dystopian future. Concepts. I was gonna remind her that romances are starting to involve objects and tech now but I let her continue...
And continuing, People hate having to confront their human desires so they'd rather pretend romance is for dumb people and pretend to engage in higher level concepts instead of their own needs or other peoples needs. I dunno if she nailed it but I haven't stopped thinking about it since. #RomanceLandia#Romance@romancelandia
#WhatchaReading ? I gave up on the audio of Take a Bow, Noah Mitchell, despite an excellent narrator with a delightful Australian accent. How can a "Shop Around the Corner" trope about online friends falling in love through musical theater be so desperately dull? Also all the bullying and loneliness was really painful to listen to.
I finally finished a book, thank Maude! After almost DNF'ing Wildfire because it seemed too similar to Icebreaker, I gave it another shot and wound up liking it considerably more than the first book. The characters are sweet and relatable, and the summer camp setting is cozy. Even the inevitable references to the romance genre were less annoying here, because the heroine actually learned something from her reading. 😂
Friends, #WhatchaReading ? I finished The Other Side of Disappearing and think it'll be one of my top romances of the year. I loved the plotting, the richness of the themes and the really satisfying way things came together in the end.
Also read The Brunellesci Baby because what's a vacation without a Harlequin Presents? It's a pretty good one, tropey but with some individuality.
"Protective Love" by Kelsie Calloway features 2 of my fave voices I've ever recorded: a swaggering good guy pro ball player & an irresistibly sultry southern belle!
I love how Kelsie constantly challenges me to come up with new character voices. It's one of the great joys of narrating for her.
If short standalone romances are your jam, give it a listen.
I don't have a sample of my Southern Belle voice handy, but you can hear my Swaggering Pro Athlete Romance Hero Voice and also my Avuncular Bartender Voice in this short clip from the opening of Protective Love.
