The Assam Rifles (AR) outpost army people going about their usual morning drill. It's right in the heart of AIzawl - think of having an Army outpost in Connaught Place, Delhi - so political parties have always campaigned for its removal during elections. Not everyone agrees with that "Friends of the the Northeast people" slogan, for obvious reasons.
That cannon also has a fascinating story. Someone noticed that the one from the British era was quietly replaced with a 'fake' one. Rumor was that the AR commandant 'took it with him' to his next posting (Nagaland IIRC). People were obviously furious. @histodon@mastodonindians
