Having written about Charles de Gaulle, who evolved fairly rapidly after WWII from an unreformed 19th Century-style imperialist to advocate of full decolonization, I am willing to accept the idea that Alexei Navalny has had time to reflect and walk back some of his earlier chauvinistic positions on Ukraine. At the same time, I fully understand why no one in Ukraine would ever really trust him if he somehow became president of Russia. @histodons
