Pspspsps… If you’re in the U.S. and want access to an online library of queer books, go sign up for a library card at Queer Liberation Library. It’s free!
My CP just launched another LitRPG serial! This book is an absolutely fantastic, wild ride. If you read Glass Kanin, this book takes place in the same universe.
Instead of a gay bottle of ink, A Little Salty features a teen seeking revenge on the gods while adhering to her Chef role. A hilarious voice and ace rep feature, along with cozy vibes despite the violence.
#bookreview of Iris Kelly Doesn’t Date by Ashley Herring Blake.
My rating: 4.5 ⭐️
Synopsis:
Iris Kelly has given up on dating after experiencing a few awful relationships. Ironically, she’s a new romance author working on her second novel, but has hit a road block because she has run out of ideas to write. She goes out to find a hook up (as is her usual routine) and goes home with a pretty girl just to end having the worst one night stand in her life.
Stevie Scott is a young, lesbian thespian (haha @ the rhyme) who just got out of a six-year long-term relationship six months ago. She has Generalized Anxiety Disorder and goes to the queer club with her non-binary friend to try and face her fear of talking to people so that she can learn to function without her ex. She meets a gorgeous red head, takes her home, and then vomits on her when she becomes too anxious and nervous.
Neither of the two women thought they would ever see the other again, but the world has a funny way of running things when Iris goes to audition for a play at a community theater… the same play where Stevie is the lead.
This book gives you fake dating, jealous exes, angst, feelings realization, miscommunication (or lack thereof), lots of internal conflict, and hot/steamy sex (if that’s your cup of tea).
This book also makes you think about societal expectations… like the expectation to get married and have a family, the expectation to choose one career over another, the expectation to be someone you’re not.
I really enjoyed this adult romance series. Idc much for romance, but it’s alright if it’s queer (especially if it’s sapphic).
The next book I’m reading is Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail by Ashley Herring Blake. It’s the second book in the Bright Falls series after Delilah Green Doesn’t Care. Astrid is Delilah’s step-sister. You’ll have to read the first book to understand their background and dynamic.
The next book I’m reading during Pride Month is All Things Seen and Unseen by RJ McDaniel. I borrowed it from the Queer Liberation Library because I wanted someone I could read while on the go.
Happy #PrideMonth ! The #SPFBO group has put together a collection of 48 books featuring queer rep of all kinds, across all years of SPFBO! Some have #LGBTQ main characters, while others (like mine) have side-character queer rep. Some are on sale, some are full price.
Dionysus in Wisconsin won third place at the New England Romance Writers Readers' Choice awards in the fantasy/paranormal category. I am definitely going to be cool about this and not use it as an excuse to call myself an AWARD-WINNING AUTHOR at every turn because that would be obnoxious.
🎉Good News, Everyone! I'm writing a new book! Called PORTRAIT OF THREE LOVERS AT SEA, or #POTLAS. It's a Norse-Myth-Vibing polyam romantic fantasy, posted periodically on #Patreon, and the first chapter is free to read, right now! 😄
AN EXTRAVAGANTLY THEATRICAL LIFE, onstage and off—the playwright and incomparable diva Charles Busch’s memoir is witty and full of love for his family, friends, mentors, and muses, but most of all for the glamour of acting. B PLUS
@bookstodon Just finished Bored Gay Werewolf by Tony Santerella, and highly recommend! It's not available in the US (it was published in the UK) but it is available on Audible, and its a fun listen.
This coming of age story is a fun romp, taking down toxic masculinity while trying to figure out young adulthood as a...gay werewolf.

HEART OF THE COVENANT by @dovelynnwriter.bsky.social is perfect for sci-fi lovers of quieter Star Trek episode or Becky Chambers' work.

Hedriar has been chosen to represent her homeworld within the Galactic Covenant. There she'll meet new friends and discover that people aren't as different as all that.
Happy 2nd day of #DecRecs to those who celebrate! Today's recommendation is 'Even Though I Knew The End', by C. L. Polk. A thoughtful, wistful Chicago noir about a supernatural detective making deals with demons to sell (or redeem) her soul. Wonderful setting, clothes, mood, vibes; and a bittersweet approach to demon bargains that feels more real, somehow, than more traditional tales of this nature.
This is my version of an ugly Christmas sweater, only as a cat lover I think it's actually cute. The sweater even made it into my sapphic holiday romance novella "A Purrfect Gift"!
Starting #bannedbooksweek by checking out the top 13 most challenged books of 2022. All Boys Aren’t Blue has been on my tbr list since March. I’m going with the audiobook since it’s read by the author. #bookstodon#lgbtqia#lgbtqbooks@bookstodon
