My reading of work by writers from the Czech Republic this month continued with the collection 'Prague Noir' edited by Pavel Mandys, which is from Akashic's Noir imprint. It's a strong and varied selection of stories, not traditional noir but tales with a darker edge that incorporate Prague's history and traditions of the mystical.
Pride Book Tours is hosting a tour for The Iamos Trilogy by @lyssachiavari throughout the month of October, to celebrate the publication of the final book on October 24! First up, FOURTH WORLD and NEW WORLD, the first two books in the series. This tour will run October 2-15.
My August round up, yes it is a few days late but I had a busy weekend!
Still trying to be good to myself particularly as I was poorly sick for a good 10 days, yet I managed 16 🤷🏼♀️ & some of the usual added bits too. This month will definitely be less as I’m on holiday soon & will NOT be reviewing whilst I’m away ☀️
I have read many of this author’s books & this one is a psychological thriller of the highest order.
Not a pacy read which is probably just as well, you need to catch your breath as you reach that ending! Fantastic & more like this please but let my heart rate settle first. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have read this author’s work before & this didn’t feel like his usual fayre. Not that there was anything wrong with it, just different.
A slow burner with beautiful descriptions of Cornwall - the characters, landscape, myths & traditions. I enjoyed reading it but I’m still not 100% sure of what I read. Intimate or claustrophobic? Read it & decide for yourself ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love this author’s work, so I was looking forward to reading this book which is the start of the new DI Nikki Ross series.
I loved Nikki & I can’t wait to see how her character develops……..Lastly, Anouk. When I was small, I always wanted a Bernese Mountain Dog & now I’ll have to live vicariously through Nikki. Oh well, cheaper & no fur balls!
An easy read & I can’t wait for book two ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
