I don't read a lot of physical books anymore. Ebooks and audiobooks are just more convenient for me. But sometimes I'll make an exception, and if anyone deserves one, it's Raymond Chandler. Dude could write... truly a master of wordcraft. The Big Sleep has so much in it to savor and enjoy, and I'm loving the "hardboiled detective" vibe. #AmReading#FridayReads#Bpoks#Bookstodon#Breakfast#Tacos@bookstodon
Reminder: I tagged the book I'm reading for easy access if others are reading ssmr book. I did NOT tag the author because that's just rude. It's not like she's going to have a conversation with me on why I disliked part X or wished there was more part Y. Obviously, if you loved the book, tell them. Gives them the warm fuzzies.
I've seen authors across SM who are distressed by this constant tagging. Just don't do it. There is no value or point.
i #AmReading The Possessed by Elif Batuman now. i thought it was a non fiction about literature, but it turned out to be more of a memoir of an academic, and she got a sense of humour 😁
Elif's luggage was lost on her way to Yasnaya Polyana and she had to attend a Tolstoy conference in loungewear. it would be even funnier if she wore a hoodie instead of a shirt – hoodie is called "tolstovka" in russian, after, you guessed it, Tolstoy 🤓

What a fucking BOOK holy heck.
I’ll need to find a hard copy of it so I can devour it again and again, and inevitably lend it out and lose it forever. But it’ll be WORTH IT.
Up there with Let Me Sing You Gentle Songs for beautiful stories that split and twist like braided rivers before spilling back into the ocean.
Might have a new top five book ay

I've read Nevada by Imogen Binnie https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/58837536-nevada
"One of the most beloved cult novels of our time and a landmark of trans literature"
I liked the content, I learned a lot, but got a bit tired with the style, lots of monologue going on. 🎲4 #amreading#bookstodon @bookstodon

Modern fantasy/Indigenous Futurism with themes of climate change, family, colonialism, and language and history loss. I thought this was a beautiful book, I give it 🎲5
