recommendations please, @bookstodon and everyone else!

I am looking for a book to read that has enough mentions of music that I can use as a playlist for while reading. can be fiction or non-fiction.

examples: Ellis’ Invisible Man; Chang’s Can’t Stop Won’t Stop

I’m considering Bass Culture or Dilla Time, but will be grateful for any recommendations!

Elijah Wald’s How the Beatles Destroyed Rock ‘n’ Roll (2011) had me tracking down records for years

Can I respond sort of self-servingly about my own book?

People have asked me to make playlists, but most of the historical recordings in my book aren’t available on Spotify

Collectors sometimes post records by players on YouTube, so I guess that’d be the best we can do

But not very satisfying

I'l got this for my dad, who plays button accordion. But I wouldn't have known of it except the author was on the Fediverse at one point. Anyone know if Bruce Triggs is still around? @bookstodon
