@juergen_hubert@austria@folklore Do you know of any other Austrian tales that use a similar motif (some injury or other detriment inflicted one year and taken back the next)? I don't think I'd heard this particular story before, but the pattern rings a bell, so it might be a thing in southern Austria.
@juergen_hubert@austria@folklore I'd do (if I could stay awake). Bleeding fingers which heal are a small price to master an instrument that requires so much practice that your fingers would well...bleed. Are you sure this story isn't just another way of saying "Practice makes perfect"?
