Incredibly draconian law. Say what you want about labour but I could never imagine them passing a bill that dictates how much money people are allowed to have and basically what they spend it on. And the average British person thinks those on welfare have it easy lol.

I really wouldn't be giving them that much credit, Labour (or "new labour") are the ones who introduced the WCA in the first place, and since then and especially in the last couple of years the party has shifted quite a few notches to the right in the overton window, Starmer doesn't give a shit about disabled (or any other marginalised) people.

they might not have made such an openly oppressive suggestion themselves, but I don't see them loudly opposing it, and if it does pass and they later get in power it will absolutely not be a priority for them to reverse, it's just too powerful a tool for the government and the capitalists who it works for.

These are not the accounts you want to be looking at.

Exactly. Once again it is politically easier and cheaper to go after the marginalized than the big money tax cheats who hide their crimes, donate to politicians and bring in lawyers.

If they did that they'd probably not have anyone available to actually run the government, they'd all be under investigation.. 🙄

Especially not while claiming to be doing it to benefit the taxpayer.
