The Golden Gate is the name of the strait the bridge spans, and has nothing to do with the color of the bridge, which is called International Orange.

Do you read Alan Moore comics? There’s a page at the back of one of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen books about the song Mack the Knife. Apparently it’s an old traditional British song about a real person, a sailor named McHeath. When he was in port, London prostitutes used to hire him to kill rivals.
