Not really. I adopted a stray kitten which cost 0$, a couple of vet visits set me back maybe 200$ for most of his life. Cat food isn’t expensive, car toys, and the environment was easy to supply and make it interesting. Later in life he got a tumor, and regular vet visits did cost a couple of thousand bucks and he eventually had to be put to sleep. But that was the most amazing cat, who gave happiness and love to 4 people, and a kitty friend.

For me the main expense is opportunity. If I want to go away for few days I need to plan a sitter which is also expensive.

Owning a pet responsibly is like owning a car: there is the expense of regular maintenance, and then every so often you have to drop a wad of money for a major repair.

Don’t get me wrong, my animals are worth it, but I think some first-time pet owners don’t realize this.

Not universally great with any bright light for me.

Also. Black smeared on OLED (I use ASUS laptop) when moving windows - universal issue. And non-consistent black on LCD due to light bleed. So I haven’t prefer black black for a long time. But that’s me. Not sure about him though

That sounds more Greek than Russian.

"Lën Nikolaevitch Torpravi(tel)sky" would be a Russified calque of Torvalds' name, although that has at least a couple of issues with it. (1: The first word is literally "Linen". Same root, but no personal name developed from that root in Russian that I can see. 2: No-one has either surname.)

I actually like minimalist wallpapers. Drawings and photos will bother me over time as I start noticing odd details. So in this case, I would not feel the need to change it right away. But I do like variety, so I’d have to build a library of fifty minimalist wallpapers or so.
