There are currently 40 developed countries on earth. Of them, 39 have some form of universal healthcare. The U.S. is the only developed country without a universal healthcare system.
There is a very clear reason for this. Conservatives in the U.S. have fought tirelessly to prevent changes to our for-profit healthcare industry.
When you, or someone you love, is sick and struggling to afford healthcare, thank a conservative. Conservatives did this and will continue to do this unless the nomal people are able to stop them.
What frustrates me is everyone knows our system is utterly broken but whenever we get closer to doing anything about healthcare the Republican noise machine shifts into high gear and people follow along like lemmings. I can’t even tell you how many times I tried to explain to people that there was no such thing as a death panel when the Obamacare legislation was going through congress.
That would be nice. It would be nicer if people didn’t have to sell their belongings to pay for healthcare in the US. Hopefully we can get there someday.
Here’s the challenge, do they try to capitalize on the Doom nerds (like me) who will spend $3K for “the head” used (not like me), or will they actually try to be competitive in the market with their reissues.
