Don't ask for things to happen as you would like them to, but wish them to happen as they actually do, and you will be all right.

AN UNFLINCHING GEN X COMING-OF-AGE novel captures the summer heat, grime, and energy of early 80s New York, as well as the complicated friendship between two interns at a prestige newspaper (back when print still ruled the media). B PLUS

Kill the farm boy isn't the greatest piece of fantasy comedy I've ever read, but it's certainly good enough to keep me reading the rest of the Tales of Pell. 3/5 stars ☺️

I have dutifully reviewed my latest reading experience on Goodreads.

The book was Chuck Tingle's 'Pounded by the Pound: Turned Gay by the Socioeconomic Implications of Britain Leaving the European Union'.

As I've mentioned before, my mother reads my goodreads reviews. She was moved to comment on this one. Her comment read, in full,

'Oh my'.

If I'm understanding Practical Buddhism correctly. Essentially greed is bad, and try to do good instead of just what feels good?
Either way 4/5 stars 😇

Hey bookloving tooters! As there’s more book talk here & more authors joining in, just an etiquette reminder: it’s best not to tag authors in book reviews, esp. not critical ones. It’s okay to tag authors with simple kind comments or questions, but let them decide for themselves if they want to seek out reviews or not.

We aren’t their bosses, we shouldn’t be sending performances reviews to their inboxes!
