Ok, how about people with more money they could possibly spend multiple lifetimes??? How about we tax billionaires so everyday citizens can have a decent education without being indebted for the rest of their god damn lives!?

They left the ruling open enough that SCOTUS can pick and choose what is and is not an official act.

Doesn’t work that way, there has to be a case and depending on how they feel about they case they might choose to delay until after the election or make it a priority.

Appeals court halts return of net neutrality | The Sixth Circuit’s temporary stay comes only weeks after the Supreme Court overturned Chevron deference, weakening the FCC (www.theverge.com)

A federal appeals court has agreed to halt the reinstatement of net neutrality rules until August 5th, while the court considers whether more permanent action is justified....

The GOP is doing everything it can to fuck up our government in favor of corporate and foreign interests: They are literally selling America out for a quick buck while all their rich asshole friends enjoy even more obscene wealth.

He just wasn’t repressing hard enough.

Are cars with AWD worth it compared to FWD.

I am potentially looking at buying a new car in next coming months. I’m looking at the Nissan rogue because my current car is Nissan and I’ve been pleased with it for the past 12 years and I would like the extra room an suv has. The only thing I don’t like is that the majority of suvs are AWD. Nissan does make the rogue in...

_haha_oh_wow_ ,
@_haha_oh_wow_@sh.itjust.works avatar

I don’t think I’d drive an SUV at all if you were concerned with cost or handling, but IMO it depends on what you need: Modern traction control with good all terrain tires can handle extremely well in snow or rain - AWD isn’t necessary.

That said, my current daily driver is an AWD manual Subaru sedan and I have to admit: It corners better and is just a bit more resistant to losing control and a little faster in regaining control. If cost is not a concern, go with an AWD sedan especially if you drive in adverse conditions a lot.

If money is tight, stick with your FWD sedan and make sure you have quality all season tires as well as keeping your brakes and related systems in good condition - this would likely be more than adequate in any reasonable conditions especially if you are already a good driver (and if not, it’s never too late to learn).

The GOP/FSB troll farms and bots on reddit are trying to downplay this so hard it’s ridiculous, especially when Trump has been shown on camera specifically acknowledging and praising Project 2025 multiple times in a room full of witnesses.

What's the cheapest thing you had bought that by the end of its usefulness made you say "wow, this was worth a lot more than what I've paid for!"

Mine… My Xbox 360 slim only costed 129 euro back in 2012 and to this day still work like brand new, you would think that the disc drive would stop working but no. Never had the need of open it or clean it’s insides. Still great, I just don’t use it anymore since I feel it’s outdated and loading speeds are better...

Safety razor: When you need to shave with a razor, these things work better than disposables and are cheap as hell to replace the blades for. Still on my original pack of blades from 10 years ago (got a gross of blades for maybe $20) and am not even halfway through - I might not ever have to buy blades again.

I love my poncho liner lol, it’s perfect for a hammock blanket. I think it was maybe $5.

If you don’t already do this, drying off your blades can make them last even longer.

_haha_oh_wow_ ,

Not necessarily bad, but different razors are more or less aggressive and need to be used differently. I bought a second safety razor that was more expensive and higher quality than the first and discovered it has a much more aggressive edge so cuts me a lot easier.

That’s not really in the hands of the people though.

Officials who ignore the will of the public to protect their own power - lying, manipulating, and gerrymandering their way into office, then abusing the system to stay there: They aren’t the will of the people in many cases, they’re the will of whatever corporations and/or foreign countries have bought them off.

It’s a two tiered system and most of us are in the shit tier.

In Georgia, conservatives seek to have voters removed from rolls without official challenges (apnews.com)

They’re asking election administrators to use their data to purge voter registrations, which means names could be removed in a less public process than a formal voter challenge. The strategy could mean electors won’t be summoned in advance to defend their voting rights and the identities of those seeking to purge voters...
