Commodore basic on the PET computer, back around 1981-1983. My grade school had three of them in the library, and since my mom was a teacher, she would sign one out for summer break and bring it home if any were available.

My family used to make breakfast casseroles. A dozen eggs, crumbled cooked sausage, cheddar cheese, and bread cut into cubes. Beat eggs together with a little milk, salt and pepper. Pour over the bread cubes and sausage mixed together in a large glass dish. Sprinkle cheese on top, and bake at 325F until done. You can also add onion and peppers, or whatever sounds good. Sorry, don’t exactly have a recipe, would just throw together whatever we had around. It was a good way of using up lots of eggs, and it could be cut up and frozen for breakfasts for the week.

Cheddar works well, or mozzarella.

Yup, Michigan originally. Hash browns were certainly a good addition. My mom would make casseroles to use up extras in the fridge, and it seemed pretty common with my friends’ families as well. She would also do bread pudding, which is like a baked french toast. Lots of bread, eggs, cinnamon and nutmeg, and raisins. Would warm up a piece and eat with maple syrup for breakfast.

I bought a couple Sceptre TVs six years ago, been great.

I have that same soldering pen. Apparently I’ve been holding it wrong for years. I’m such an amateur.

EchoCranium ,

Not a laptop, but I had an old motherboard from over 20 years ago not doing anything. Screwed it to a board on the wall of my shop. Added an old hard drive and some components out of the same old box it was in, and now have it running Mint. Found an old wifi card that works too, so I can look up parts and repair videos while I’m working on projects. Works great.

Ukraine packed a Cessna-style plane with explosives, added remote controls and kamikaze’d it into a Russian drone factory 600 miles away (www.forbes.com)

In a sharp escalation of its drone campaign targeting strategic industries deep inside Russia, Ukraine seems to have fitted Cessna-style light planes with remote controls, packed them with explosives and flown at least one of them more than 600 miles to strike a Russian factory in Yelabuga, 550 miles east of Moscow....

Next generation stealth plane: going back to basics.

You are going to be trapped in a room for 12 hours with a mid 2000s office desktop with no internet connection and an external hard drive; what are you putting on the hard drive?

I’ve got some DOOM WADs I have been meaning to play so I would probably grab Trench Foot, Total Chaos, and the sequel to Ashes 2063, Ashes: Afterglow with a portable install of GZDoom to play them....

EchoCranium ,

I’d probably sit and play Unreal, or maybe Riven if I was feeling more chill. Could easily burn through 12 hours like that. Just need to be able to take a case of Jolt, a few bags of chips, and some Skittles along and I’d be set.

Wife and I ended up in Tampa early 2006. No state tax, but man, they made up for it there in fees and licensing for everything imaginable. Seemed like a lot of service industry jobs and trades all required you to get a local license. Heck, even the gals working in strip clubs were required to get a license to perform. I know some skilled trade jobs typically required licenses, but Florida just seemed to go out of their way to try to squeeze lower and middle class workers who were just trying to get by.

Only if you can get through the years of litigation, harassment, stress, and have the money to weather it out. Truth and justice are more easily attainable for those who can afford it.

EchoCranium ,

No, not criminal prosecutions for what should be a minor issue, but definitely civil suits. SLAPP suits have been a problem, where the plaintiff doesn’t necessarily expect to win. They just want to punish people by making their lives miserable through drawn out litigation. m.youtube.com/watch?v=UN8bJb8biZU

For the love of god! My anus is bleeding! (-Yay! Hooray!-)

Sorry you lost friends that way. Hopefully the asshole that did it never sees the outside of prison ever again.

Yes her hair was green as seaweed, Her skin was blue and pale, Her legs they are a work of art, I loved that girl with all my heart, And I don’t give a damn about the upper part, Cause that’s how I get my tail! (The Mermaid by Great Big Sea)

If so, I wanna see what happens if you plug in a usb mouse jiggler.

Is that what a horseshoe is supposed to look like?

Bro Hymn by Pennywise is playing right now. Listening to the punk channel on XM.

The NRA has a bloody hand in promoting this culture. Decades of escalating fearmongering brought them members, money, and political influence. It also took them far off course from their original goals promoting safety and responsibility. They now exist solely to promote more firearms sales at any cost, and actively push legislation against any attempts to regulate ownership. I enjoy going to the range once in a while to do some target shooting, and used to hunt years ago, but will never be a NRA member. I have no respect for this organization and what they’ve become.

Has HP printers always been this bad? (sh.itjust.works)

So my mother recently bought an ET-2800, By HP we had an HP printer before and we got a new one because the old one would not work with my sister’s Windows 11 Laptop. So I had to set it up for my mother, the manual said you can use it without the app. But there was no way to physically do that. Anyway, I downloaded the app on...

In the 80s and 90s HP printers were great. They just worked, even in rough dirty manufacturing environments. You could just about drop kick one, and it would still print out a page for you. Now they’re crap. The investment firm that owns the brand is past beating the dead horse, now trying to squeeze every last dollar out of the carcas.

Looks just like our dog. We were told he’s a lab and chihuahua mix by the original owner.

I set on Lemmy.zip during the blackout protest on Reddit, and haven’t gone back to it. Don’t miss it. Lemmy has grown a lot in the past few months. It’s only a fraction of the Reddit userbase size, but steadily filling out and getting better.

This took a lot longer to happen than I expected. Do Putin’s plane next.

EchoCranium ,

That would also be acceptable.

West Wing. When it came out years ago, (24 actually…) I saw a couple episodes and it didn’t interest me. But about 8 years ago I ended up watching every episode on Netflix and loved it. But wow, if I had to slog through to season 4 of a show to enjoy it, I would never get there.

EchoCranium ,

Looks like she’s already wearing one from the photo they used. Very brave and admirable for her to step up and continue forward.

Just saw them play for the first time last night in Charlotte NC. They were great, played Cope and Shake it Out, which I wanted to hear, but was a short set. It was an outdoor amphitheatre with a local noise ordinance cutting off all performance at 11pm. They didn’t start until almost 10pm, so only had an hour of stage time.

Everyone was holed up waiting for the world to end because of Y2K. 😯
