Because the amount of organizations needing data backups / protection far exceeds the amount of available qualified IT personnel. So instead of training themselves, they hire morons who say “sure I can do your IT”
In the early days of ransomware I helped a small business of a friend that was attacked. They got in and waited months, creating garbage backups until they were confident then sprang the trap.

I wish Bernie would weaponize the filibuster the way Rand Paul does to block these things. I’m glad his heart is in the right place and I’m glad he does these things, but he doesn’t want to play dirty and it’s 2024, you need to play dirty when they’re willing to.
The problem with using the filibuster is that it only works when you know the other side doesn’t have 67% in the senate. With both the democratic and republican parties being in the pocket of AIPAC, I suspect they could easily get the votes to break Bernie’s filibuster.
The hypocrisy. Trump evades questions about EVERYTHING, yet gets called almost never. Her answer isn’t even an evasion. It was a whole dismissive argument on the absurdity of both the claim and question summarized in a terse “Same old, tired playbook. Next question, please.”

I wouldn’t say the Daily Show does real journalism. They do make important stories public, but they have a clear slant both in terms of politics and in terms of making it funny.

This is disingenuous reporting of the NYT, just repeating Musk’s untrue “town square” meme, and saying “just about anything goes”. Anarchist and other left wing accounts were the first to be banned, and many accounts and posts from even mildly left or progressive accounts are banned and suppressed. You can’t even say the word “cis”. It’s not a place where anything goes. It’s a place where right wing content is protected and promoted. It’s a Nazi website. Say that.
