Dungan’s behavior is a perfect illustration of the “anti-woke” tap dance. The person alleging nefarious wokeness never admits to their own bigotry, instead pretending that they’re reacting to “woke” people who are “pushing” an agenda, in this case through innocuous poster art.
That is a very good take.
Also: it’s always projection. Conservatives push an agenda, so they assume everyone else does too.
I really want people to learn the actual meaning of the word - it really says it all. And normally I argue for lingual drift and accepting the changed meaning of words, but in this case most people don’t know the definition, but aside from a racial/identity implication, they’re using it mostly correctly
Woke means looking at the system critically, not believing the things politicians and public officials tell you at face value, seeing how it’s all designed to turn us against each other so we never attempt meaningful change.
In a phrase, it means “wake up to the lies and think for yourself”
I have to admit that I’ve never gotten over the rampant rise in LGBT sex scenes in TV and films. I guess it just goes to show that my cishet upbringing took for granted that hetero sex scenes were normal.
I guess if I had my way I’d like to see less sex in general (all kinds, hetero or LGBT) unless it significantly contributes in some way to the story.
Still, I guess if you’re watching a movie that is known to be LGBT then you shouldn’t be surprised by seeing same sex content.
Houston resident, lots of strong opinions on this.
First, this happened because schools have been underperforming for some time. The line in sand was crossed and the state decided to step in. Secondly, from my understanding with radio interviews and other online sources, they repurpose the library to redirect students who cause distractions in class. If you disrupt in the classroom, you join an isolated zoom session from the old library.
I’m not suggesting this approach will work, just letting everyone know the thought process.
Oher and Tiffany Roy married in 2022 after a 17 year relationship. Legally there shouldn’t be a conservatorship after that date. All his earnings should be returned to him.
If they were to apply to rejoin, as well as joining the Schengen and the euro, I’d want them to have a minimum 60% in favour in a referendum (not just in the polls). Something like a membership of the EU, a political project, requires strong public support.
